I live in Northern Ireland where most of my ancestors originate in County Tyrone. Elvin Hamilton is not really a common name and I was wondering is there a Northern Irish or Scottish connection. Going back to the 1800’s my grandfather was named David Elvin Hamilton when I believe a member of the Hamilton family married a member of the Elvin family. It may just be a coincidence. I am the third generation bearing the name David Elvin Hamilton.
Sorry I didn’t realize that I was replying to an obituary in a local newspaper referring to Lizzie Hamilton. The name Elvin Hamilton stood out as it is not a common name.
