Lake Monticello Drone Video, by MPD
July 15th, 2022 by Joe BurgessAccording to Chief Jason Akers, MPD’s Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Program, while recently implemented for law enforcement and search and rescue related operations, has shown to be helpful and reduce costs in other areas of city operations as well.
Recently, Mayor Chase requested the drone to be utilized to get an aerial view of water tower related equipment as well as the progress of Lake Monticello. Using the drone to examine water tower related issues saves both time and manpower spent climbing the tower. The drone itself was obtained using both donations as well as previously existing funds.
Here is the video, recorded and prepared by MPD’s FAA qualified drone pilot, Officer Shawn Curtis.
