Kelsey Englert Hired as UAM Director of Marketing and Public Relations

Kelsey Englert has been hired for the position of director of marketing and public relations at the University of Arkansas at Monticello. Since 2017, she has served as an instructor of English at the university. In 2021, Englert received a nomination for UAM’s Hornaday Outstanding Faculty Award. Previously, she taught English courses at Ball State University and West Virginia University.
Englert earned a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture degree and a Bachelor of Science in history degree from Ball State University in 2012. She earned a Master of Art in English degree from Ball State University in 2014 and a Master of Fine Arts in creative writing degree from West Virginia University in 2017.
As a writer, Englert has two dozen publications in fiction, creative nonfiction, and poetry in national literary magazines. She also brings practical experience in marketing, print and digital design, and social media management to her new role at the university. During her graduate studies at Ball State University, she served as the assistant to the director of creative writing and the assistant to the English department’s assistant chair for operations. In these capacities, Englert managed the department’s blog and newsletter, contributed to the marketing strategy for the department including creating print and digital advertisements, and provided photography services for departmental events.
In Monticello, Englert volunteers at Monticello 2nd Chance Fur Dogs. She serves as a grant writer for the dog rescue and has provided social media, website, and brochure content, as well as photography services for the organization.
Englert began working as the director of marketing and public relations at UAM in December. “I am passionate about student success, recruitment, and retention, as well as the celebration of achievements by our faculty, staff, and students,” Englert said. “I look forward to playing a role in collaborative efforts to navigate UAM’s opportunities, challenges, and identity in the years to come.”
