Kelly Jones Named Baptist Home Campus Director

Kelly Jones has been named campus director for the Baptist Home for Children in Monticello.
In this position, Jones will oversee the flagship campus of the 124-year-old agency. He is responsible for the 48-bed residential facility that provides care for boys and girls, ages 5 through high school, that live in six family-style homes.
“The Baptist Home for Children in Monticello is a special place, and it needs a special leader. Kelly Jones is that leader,” said David Perry, ABCHomes executive director. “While there will be a learning curve as he moves from the pastorate to a leader of a residential childcare facility, I believe Jones’ intellect, work ethic and passion for the ministry will help in this transition.
A native of Helena, Ark., Jones said, “I cannot express how excited and honored I am to serve as the new campus director of such a vital ministry to the children and families in our state. My family and I cannot wait to get to the campus and begin the work God has called us to do there.”
Prior to joining the Baptist Home for Children, Jones served as pastor of First Baptist Church of Harrisburg from Jan. 2010 to June 2018. He was pastor of First Baptist Church of Dewitt from Nov. 2006 to Jan. 2010. In addition, Jones has served on the staff of Faith Baptist Church of Bartlett, Tenn., and Second Baptist Church of West Helena. He was owner of Sherrald Jones Insurance Company, West Helena, from 1994 to 2003.
Jones is a graduate of Phillips Community College of University of Arkansas, West Helena, Ark., and Delta State University, Cleveland, Miss. He received a master of divinity from Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary, Cordova, Tenn., and a doctor of ministry from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, New Orleans, La.
Previously, Jones was a deacon, Sunday School teacher and Discipleship Training teacher at Second Baptist Church of West Helena. He and his wife, Joan, have four children, Adam, 16; Nick, 12; Maryjoy, 8; and Brooklyn, 7.
