Katlin Lidge Memorial Scholarship Announced
April 3rd, 2012 by SubmittedKatlin Lidge was tragically taken from us on March 5, 2011. Katlin may well be remembered by the public as a fine athlete, but to those who knew him well Katlin was far more. He was a kind soul. He was a young man of character and spirit.
On a personal note-if I may. I missed seeing Katlin graduate from college last May. I will miss him sitting with me at Billie football games, watching the new crop of Billies grow. We can try to make sense of what can only be described as senseless. But, Katlin taught us some important lessons in his short life. Katlin knew from personal experience that life was not always fair or even or equal. He could be angry, vengeful, or sullen, but he was not. Katlin would have done much for the world and now you and I must do what he would have done. It will not be easy. It was not always easy for Katlin. But, I hope Katlin will be as proud of us, as I was of him.
