Judge Discusses Status of Possible “Burn Ban”
July 24th, 2013 by Joe BurgessMLive spoke to Drew County Judge Robert Akin, Tuesday afternoon, about the possiblity of a countywide Burn Ban being issued.
Judge Akin said that Drew County has just been classified as a “moderate” risk by the Arkansas Forestry Commission, who Akin considers the experts in the field.
The judge told us that he would issue a burn ban when the AFC recommends that it is needed; at this point, they haven’t recommended doing so..
Last year, a burn ban was issued on July 5, barely holding off past the “Fourth of July fireworks”
