John Carter Announces Candidacy for Vacant City Council Seat
July 1st, 2020 by Joe BurgessJohn Carter, a lifelong Drew County resident, announced his candidacy for the Monticello City Council, Ward 4, this week.
John is a father, husband and member of Immanuel Baptist Church. John has served his community as a Monticello Fireman and City Police Officer as well as Supervisory Agent of the 10th Drug Task Force.
“My decision to run for City Council stems from my love of Monticello. I went to school here, my children go to school here and I care about my community. I want to do my part to make Monticello a better place for everyone and a place where people feel safe to raise a family.”
John looks forward to working with Mayor Chase and other council members and addressing the issues we currently face together as a community.
“I believe in my community. Monticello has given so much to me that if I can serve the people and give back, it will be an honor. I would appreciate your vote in November
