James Milton Washington
August 3rd, 2012 by Christian Brothers Funeral HomeJames Milton Washington, 62, passed away on July 30, 2012 at Drew Memorial Hospital. He was born November 26, 1950 in Lacey, AR to Addie Bea Washington and the late New Washington Sr. James was a heavy equipment operator for various employers prior to his failing health.
Mr. Washington join the Pentecostal Church in the Goose Hollow community of Drew County at an early age. A few years ago he met his soul mate, Barbara Pierce, who encouraged him to study the bible and attend church. Both James and Barbara obeyed the gospel of Christ and were baptized and added to the Church of Christ on January 2, 2011. The couple loved the Lord and desired to live according to the scripture was married on February 5, 2011.
He leaves to cherish her memory: loving wife Barbara Washington; four brothers: Eugen Washington of Kansas City, KS; Newt (Shriley) Washington, Jr. of Crossett; Bernard (Shirley) Washington of Fort Worth, TX and John (Kim) Washington of Monticello; six sisters Leola (Burdell) Roberts of Portland, OR; Margaret (Jimmy) Griggs of Bastrop, LA; Gracie (Bertis) Sawyer, Hazelene (James) McCray, Earlene (John) Middleton, and Joyce Darrough of Monticello, AR; and eight step-children: Janeessa Brown, Brandon Pierce, Kellen (Tan) Gray, Katrina Wade, Waymond Wade, Linda Ingram, Renee Wade, and Sharetha Williams; and a host of other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his father Newt Washington, Sr.; his brother and best friend Edward (Cook) Washington; brother, RB Washington; and two wives Dorothy Wade Washington and Maxine Ferrell Washington.
A Memorial Service will beĀ held Saturday, August 5th at Kennedy Blvd Church of Christ in Monticello.
