Jail Report to Quorum Court from May
June 3rd, 2014 by iPhoneCounty Detention Facility administrator Susan Potts presented this report to the quorum court at their recent meeting.
It describes the breakdown of detainees being housed at the jail, their classification, and who is responsible for paying for their costs.
——————-
Currently the population of our facility is 38 as of 12:00 P.M. Below is a breakdown of agencies responsible. I expect to have more convicted felons by the end of the day because today is plea day in Circuit Court.
28 – Convicted felons waiting to go to either Arkansas Department of Corrections or Department of Community Corrections. Meaning they are state prisoners. And a bill will be submitted to the State of Arkansas once they are transferred to those departments.
6 – Pretrial felons. Waiting for their case to be completed in the Circuit Court. Drew County is responsible for all of these prisoners. No billing will start until they are convicted. Those who were arrested by the City of Monticello, once the formal information was filed by the Prosecuting Attorney become County Prisoners. The City is no longer required to pay for their housing.
1- Child Support Enforcement prisoner. No one is billed for these prisoners. The county is responsible for all housing, medical and misc. expenses.
3 – Misdemeanor prisoners. One arrest was made by the City of Monticello, and the other two Drew County. I will bill the city for their prisoner at the end of the month. And for any others we may house for the month.
Collections for housing this month are as follows:
City of Monticello and Dumas paid a total of (2 Months) $11,290.00
State of Arkansas paid a total of $14,192.00
___________
Total $25,482.00
Collections for taking fingerprints for the public is $435.00 (29 in 1 month)
