This photo was taken on September 7 at the grand opening of the new “culinary cafeteria program” for all Drew Central students. Also in the photo, standing next to Williams, is the new school resource officer, which resulted from a combined effort of Drew Central and Drew County.

It is with great sadness that we inform you of the passing of Mr. Billy Williams, Superintendent of Drew Central Schools Mr. Williams passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, September 18. He was serving his sixth year as the Drew Central Superintendent and had 42 years of experience in education.
He will be missed by the Pirate Nation.
Please keep Mr. Williams’s family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time and the days ahead.

MLive has confirmed that Mr. Williams was working on the family farm, as he often did, at the time of his death.
