Edited – Intruder Shot, after Entering Home & Assaulting Lady
November 1st, 2017 by iPhoneAround 7 PM, Friday evening, Monticcello dispatch received Received phone calls from different locations, about a shooting that took place in Drew County.
Monticello Police responded to the DMH ER, where a male had driven himself to the hospital, after being shot.
At the same time, Drew County Sheriffs deputies were dispatched to a home near Jose Chapel Cut-Off, where gunshots were heard in the area.
According to the arrest report, Fredrick Franklin, age 31 of New Orleans, Entered the home and was assaulting a female that lives there.
A male that was in another room at the residence, entered the room where the incident was taking place, after he heard screaming. Paperwork indicates that the female was being choked by Franklin.
The second man then picked up a 380 caliber pistol, located in the room, fired a shot, striking Franklin in the buttocks.
One report indicates that Franklin was charged with terroristic threatening, and Jail records show domestic battery in the 3rd degree.
Charges were not filed against the man who shot Franklin, because it appears he was protecting the female.
During his hearing, Franklin said that he was invited to the residence.
