House Fire Closes College St. From Main to Edwards

At 11 AM, the Monticello Fire and Police Departments responded to a house fire in the 100 block of E. College St.
Smoke was billowing from the eaves of the house, but the fire already had a strong foothold and continued to consume the structure.
Neighbors said that it had been a rental property, but was currently vacant.
