“Hot Enough to Shoplift an Air Conditioner”
April 28th, 2015 by Joe BurgessLast Tuesday, as local folks were feeling the first of the “hot days of summer”, a couple of ladies decided on an idea for them to “beat the heat.”
Their idea was to shoplift 2 air conditioning units from Walmart.
The women, along with the 5,000 btu unit and a 10,000 btu unit, were seen as they left the store, and placed the boxes in their car.
Monticello Police soon arrived, and spoke to both women.
Angela Cotton then admitted to taking both air conditioners, and was taken into custody, likely to be charged with Shoplifting under $1,000.
