Hot Check Arrest for Jim Hall Leads Democrats to File Dishonesty Suit to Disqualify Him from Election
August 30th, 2016 by iPhoneThe Arkansas Democratic Party has submitted documents to the Drew County circuit court clerk, in an attempt to disqualify state representative candidate for District 9, Jim Hall from being eligible for election in November.
The attached documents, filed on behalf of former state representative and Ashley County Democratic chairperson Johnnie Bolin, show Hall was convicted of a hot check case in Faulkner County court, which the Democratic Party claims falls under the “infamous crimes, dealing with dishonesty” statute.
The hot check appears to have been written in 2014, and went before the court earlier this year.
Since Hall has previously filed lawsuits against all Drew County circuit judges, a special judge will likely need to be appointed.
The case should be officially filed, on Tuesday.
