Home Invasion Armed Robbery Gets 20 Year Sentence for Local Man

The victim stated that he was dragged outside by one of the suspects and a gunshot was fired into his car window.
The victim told responding officers that he knew the suspects. They were soon arrested after a short chase.
The first suspect, Willie Payne, of California, was sentenced to 35 years in prison by Drew County jury in October.
The second suspect, Damarious Blanks, age 21 of Monticello, was found guilty, Wednesday, of aggravated robbery, aggravated residential burglary, and misdemeanor theft of property, by a jury, and a trial day that lasted 9am til 6:30 in the evening.
Blanks was sentenced to 10 years in ADC on aggravated robbery, 10 more on aggravated residential burglary, and 1 year on theft of property.
The 2 felonies will be served consecutive to each other. The they have charge will be concurrent, for a total of a 20 year sentence
Blanks is expected to be eligible for parole in about 9.5 years.
The state was represented by Andrew Best, Blanks was represented by Ronald Davis, of Little Rock.
The jury deliberated approximately 45 minutes to find him guilty, add an additional 30 minutes to agree on the sentences.
