Holiday Head-On Collision
January 19th, 2022 by Joe Burgess
Around 1130, Monday morning, two vehicles collided head on west of Willmar on Highway 278 West.
Sources at the scene report that an eastbound heavy duty Chevy 2500 pick-up had turned into the center lane, coming to an “almost complete stop.“ The Chevy was struck head-on by a westbound Chrysler 200, that veered into the turning lane, at seemingly full speed.
Bradley & Drew County Deputies, Monticello Fire and Rescue, Drew County OEM and a Warren ambulance responded.
The driver of the Chevy was transported by ambulance to Drew Memorial Hospital. It is believed the driver of the Chrysler left the scene with a family member before speaking to officers.
Reggie’s and Rod’s Wreckers removed the wrecked vehicles.
