Harper Retiring in June, after 9 Years as Superintendent
February 11th, 2015 by iPhone“Dear Board Members:
Please accept this letter as my formal announcement that I intend to retire as Superintendent of the Monticello School District on June 30, 2015.
I have been fortunate to have had the opportunity and pleasure to serve the Monticello School District as Superintendent since July 1, 2006.
My retirement on June 30, 2015 will culminate 46 years in Arkansas’s Public School System, with the last nine (9) years as this district’s superintendent. Any success that we have had in this district can be accredited to a supportive school board and a tremendously capable group of administrators, teachers and support staff who have worked together to improve the educational services for the children of this district.
I am optimistic about my retirement and the eventual next phase of my life, but I am saddened about the departure from colleagues and friends that I have worked with so closely. I can retire knowing that I have given my best to the Monticello School District, its families, children, and staff. My experiences here will forever be a significant part of who I am.
I only wish the best for the Monticello School District and I again, thank you for the opportunity to serve and for the support that has been provided me.
Respectfully,
Bob R. Harper”
