Gun Reported at Local School

MLive has confirmed the a pre-school student brought a medium caliber handgun onto a Drew Central school bus, Tuesday morning.
The student did not threaten anyone with the weapon, but did tell a slightly older relative on the bus (also a Drew Central student) about it.
The older student borrowed a friend’s cell phone, to call the younger student’s mom. The mom then met the students when they got off of the bus at school, and took possession of the gun.
Drew Central administration contacted Monticello Police,
as well as other appropriate authorities.
