March 6th, 2018 by iPhoneJessie L. Griffin of Monticello has announced his candidacy for Drew County Judge in the upcoming election.
Griffin is a native of Monticello and a 1971 graduate of Drew Central.
Since retiring from the military and returning to Monticello in 1997, Griffin has been a service manager for Lucky Chevrolet, an employee for Sears, Price Lumber, and the Drew County Public Facilities Board.
“I feel the position of county judge would not only be challenging, but would allow me to use my administrative and leadership skills.” Griffin said he feels his experience which includes supervising staff members, being responsible for scheduling work assignments for upwards of 200 people, structuring and implementing budgets of up to $5 million, being responsible for the care and maintenance of equipment in excess of $500,000, and working on committees for a common goal make him a viable candidate for the office.
Griffin enjoys meeting and talking to people and has the ability to form strong working relationships. He has a love for Southeast Arkansas, especially Drew County, and wants the opportunity to give back to the community and through his leadership style make good things happen for the county and its citizens.
Jessie and his wife Linda are members of the Enon Baptist Church; they have two children and five grandchildren.
