Friday afternoon, the Clear Creek Fire Department, along with Drew County Sheriffs Deputies and OEM director, responded to a grass and woods fire on Sullivan Road, and western Drew County.

If the fire had been noticed any later, the blaze would’ve ignited a large wooded area and required the Forestry Commission help to extinguish.

The fire covered approximately an acre of ground, and had just entered the forest perimeter.
