Grand Manor Assisted Living Breaks Ground for 49 Bed Housing & Care Units with 25 Local Jobs – Updated
August 8th, 2013 by Joe BurgessSeveral business and community leaders were present, Tuesday afternoon, for the ceremonial groundbreaking of Grand Manor Assisted Living, located on HWY 425 North, just past Cablevision.
The level two facility will provide care units for 49 clients, including an area for “memory care” patients.
Plans are for the venture to include excercise, activity, and therapy rooms, a salon, theatre, library, will be provided, along with conference and dining areas.
Outside of the structure, a courtyard and patio areas will be available.
Owners Mike and John Akin plan for a Registered Nurse to be on daily duty at Grand Manor.
Mike Akin told MLive that the expected construction coust is around $5,000,000, plus fixtures and furnishings.
The new industry brings with it jobs for 25 employees,
Southern Quality Construction, of Monticello will be the contractor, which will provide local construction jobs and local building supplies purchased at Monticello businesses.
Construction is expected to start imediately and take around 12 months.
