Good job son.
I have been a critic, but as long as the Treasurer’s office maintains a full time presence in the Court House with the help of a “deputy” at no additional expense to the County (the taxpayer), I am willing to have an open mind. I was very pleased to hear that Mr. Searcy is not a fan of sales tax for general revenue generation. He states this is a regressive tax and I believe that he may be the first elected official that actually understands the negative impact of high sales tax. If he helps the County (and the taxpaper) manage the budget as to some day reduce Drew County’s onerous burden of sales tax- I’ll become his biggest fan just as I have been a fierce critic.
