Funnel Cloud Destroys Local Home
December 28th, 2015 by iPhoneAround 6:30, Sunday evening, a funnel cloud was seen in Drew County, which destroyed a local home, near Lake Monticello.
Sheriff Mark Gober saw the “funnel shaped spear” develope, in the distance
and watched as it traveled from Sandlin Road toward 278 East, whereas he later found debris across the highway.
It was around the same time of storm activity in Cleveland County, that an unattached cell developed, here, which never showed up on radar. No warnings were announced by the National Weather Service.
The family took the precaution of getting into their storm shelter, which saved their lives.
The damage, shown here, took place on Sanderlin Road, which is located between Barkada Road and Highway 35 N.
