Fraud Attempt Reported

Around 8:30, Monday evening, a local business owner reported receiving a phone call from an in-state phone number claiming that the business owed a past due electric bill.
The caller, claiming to be Entergy, gave the business owner an 800-number to call to make an after hours payment.
The scammers told the person their bill was over $900, which is several months usage at normal rates, for that business.
MPD has been notified.
The business owner reported this to MLive, to make other businesses and residents in Drew County aware of the scam
