Fire Dept. Training with Propane Tanks
April 24th, 2012 by Joe BurgessThe Monticello Fire Department held a training exercise for extinguishing LP gas fires at the Drew County Fairgrounds, Saturday.
Southern LP Gas Company donated 400 gallons of gas to be burned in the exercise.
At least 5 area fire departments took part in the training session, which practiced extinguishing propane fires on tanks and piping fixtures.

i hope this set of videos helps the public realise just how much danger our guys face when the pager goes off. and that the public understands there is one big differance in these training exercises and when a real call comes in, in a real event they are fighting fire and possible explosions risking their life to save another…MFD YOU GUYS ROCK!!!

Propane??? The military had us fighting diesel, magnesium, and jet fuel fires for fun. Now that’s a HOT fire.
