Felon With Drugs & Rifle Arrested after Local Manhunt
December 17th, 2021 by Joe BurgessAccording to Monticello Police Chief Jason Akers, on Wednesday, Monticello Officers successfully ended a police pursuit that resulted in the arrest of a Crossett man identified as Kahliff Daniels, age 26, for multiple felony drug and gun charges.
MPD attempted to stop a vehicle operated by Daniels, who fled and led officers in short pursuit before Daniels’ vehicle struck a telephone pole. Daniels fled from his vehicle on foot carrying an AR15 rifle.
A perimeter was set around the wooded area where Daniels fled with the rifle and MPD’s K-9 unit was called to come to the scene and assist. After arrival, K-9 unit was able to locate the rifle the suspect was seen fleeing the vehicle with. Drugs, scales and ammunition was also located inside the vehicle.
Daniels was charged with Felony Fleeing, Possession of firearms by certain persons, simultaneously possessing drugs and firearms, possession of schedule 6 controlled substance with purpose to deliver and possession of drug paraphernalia. Daniels is awaiting a first judicial appearance.
