Fatality Wreck on 425 South Claims Life of SEARK Man

According to the Arkansas State Police preliminary accident report, the driver of a Ford was traveling southbound on Highway 425, near the Drew/Ashley county line, yesterday, minutes before 1 PM, when he collided head on with a northbound, unloaded log truck, that was trying to avoid the Ford.
The driver of the Ford cross the centerline, causing the driver of the log truck to swerve into the northbound ditch, while trying to avoid a collision.
The driver side bumper and tire of the Ford collided with the rear axle of the log truck, before finally coming to rest, facing northeast.
Billy J. Yates age 66 of Fountain Hill, was the driver of the Ford, who died in the crash, and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
ASP, DCSO, OEM, Monticello Fire & Rescue and MASI responded to the crash site.
