Fatality Fire in Desha County
November 23rd, 2017 by iPhoneThe Watson Fire Dept. was battling a fire on Peterson Road (Desha County), around 8 PM, Tuesday night, when they received another fire call on HWY in Watson.
The second fire was a small camper, wherev22-year-old male lost his life, in the blaze.
Neighbors tried multiple times to enter the camper to rescue the victim, but were unable to reach him.
The name of the victim has not been publicly released, at this time.
Watson, McGehee, Dumas and Kelso/Rowher Fire Departments responded to the fires, along with Desha County Sheriff’s Deputies, Dumas EMS and Arkansas State Police.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
The Watson Fire Department wants to express their appreciation to the other first responders for their assistance during this crisis situation. They also, on behalf of all responders, want to express their sympathy and prayers to the family of the victim.
