Fatal Wreck at 35 East & Old Dermott Rd.

At 3:30 pm, Thursday, a Monticello man was killed and 2 other residents injured, in a head on collision, eas of Monticello.
Gordon Carter, age 58, a payssenger in the westbound Toyota Yaris, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.
The driver of that vehicle, along with the single occupant of a eastbound Ford Focus, were transferred to DMH and JRMC for treatment for their injuries.
The Ford crossed the centerline, into the path of the Toyota, causing the vehicles to strike almost head-on.
Arkansas State Police are investigating the crash. Monticello Rescue squad also responded. Drew County Sheriffs deputies detoured traffic for over an hour, through Old Dermott Road to Cherry Street.
