Fatal Shooting (in Drug Deal) Charge Reduced To Negligent Homicide by Jury, Sentence Shooter To 1 Year In Jail
August 22nd, 2018 by iPhoneA Drew County jury sentenced a 55 year old Monticello man to one year in the county jail and a fine, for the November 2017 shooting death of Harold Miller Jr., 54, of Monticello.
According to reports, Arnold LaRon White shot Miller at McCray’s garage in the chest with a 22 revolver.
Evidence and testimony in court explain the events occurred after White purchased $20 worth of drugs from Miller, and was not satisfied with the quantity/quality of the items he received.
Events escalated, it was reported both me and showed weapons, although witnesses testimony and varied. A struggle ensued, with the deceased being shot in the chest.
Arnold LaRon White was taken into custody following the hearing, to serve his one-year sentence in the county jail.

$30,000 Bond set for Fatal Shooting in Monticello

LaRon White, age 55 of Monticello, has been charged with Manslaughter for the shooting death of Harold Miller Jr., 54, also of Monticello.
During the first appearance hearing, Thursday morning, it was revealed that White shot Miller at McCray’s garage in the chest with a 22 revolver, Tuesday.
Judge Bruce Anderson set bond at $30,000 commercial bond and appointments a public defender to represent White.
Nov. 14, 2017Arnold LaRon White Sr., 55, of Monticello has been arrested and is being held at the Drew County Detention Center on manslaughter charges in connection with a homicide investigation being lead by Special Agents of the Arkansas State Police Criminal Investigation Division.
Authorities within the Monticello Police Department contacted state police Tuesday, requesting assistance in the investigation into the death of Harold Miller Jr., 54, also of Monticello.
A shooting incident involving both men was reported to Monticello Police about 12:25 PM today at 513 West Shelton where officers found Miller dead.
Miller’s body will be transported to the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory for purposes of an autopsy. The state police will prepare an investigative file and submit the findings to the Drew County prosecuting attorney.
