A local news reporter has received several calls yesterday morning, in reference to the false rumor of their death.

MLive’s Joe Burgess appreciates the concerns and calls from his friends and MLive readers, but is alive and well – working on a story update for this afternoon.

Burgess also extends his sympathies to the family of Brian Joseph Burgess (no relation) of Monticello, who passed away, last week.
