Fake $100 Bills Hit Monticello, Counterfeit Cash Leads to Arrest
December 13th, 2017 by iPhoneRecently, Drew County Sheriff’s Deputy Brandon Wright answered a call on Barkada Road regarding a suspect, later identified as Joshua Tompkins, using two fake $100 bills to buy a cell phone.
The fraudulent bills have “For Motion Picture Use Only” printed on them where it should read “The United State of America.”
A bench warrant was issued for Mr. Tompkins and he was arrested on December 5th.
As Mr. Tompkins was being booked into the Drew County Detention Facility it was discovered that he had another fake $100 bill in his wallet.
The Monticello Police Department is also working a similar case on Mr. Tompkins.
Tompkins was issued a bond in the amount of $10,000.
