Ex-con Tells Police, “I’ve Been Shot 3 Times, & Thrown from a 3 Story Building”

On a recent Thursday evening around 5 PM. MPD pulled over a speeding, tan SUV near HWY 35 and 425.
The driver, Monty Lee Merritt, age 56 of Carencro, LA, gave officers an ID card, which linked to a suspended license.
When an officer asked the passenger, Kassundra Diane Reed, age 46 of Metairie, LA, gave the officer multiple names, and couldn’t remember where she was born.
Reed added that she had been shot in the back 3 times, and thrown from a 3-story building.
A search of the vehicle produced 3 pipes, along with two photo IDs of Reed (a drivers license and a Louisiana inmate card).
Both suspects were arrested. Charges included posession of drug paraphernalia and obstructing governmental operations, among possible others.
