One Monticello Life, Jesus Christ
April 8th, 2012 by Joe BurgessMonticelloLive has an Eater tradition of honoring Jesus Christ’s sacrifice for us by featuring a special One Monticello Life, written by a local pastor, on Easter Sunday, each year. This year we present ONE EXTRA-ORDINARY LIFE by Larry Doggett, of Fountain of Life Christian Center, the speaker at tonight’s Community Easter Service.
The extra-ordinary life that I write about today is about a man called, Jesus, who is also known as the Son of God, and also, Christ–the anointed One of God, and the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Growing up in the Bible belt, I have heard about Jesus all of my life. There are many things that I could share and here are some from A through Z about this extra-ordinary life of Jesus.
The life of Jesus is extra-ordinary for His:
Authenticity. Jesus is Emanuel, God with us. Matthew 1:23
Behavior. Jesus was and is sinless, the living Son of God. 1-Peter 2:21-25
Creation & Cause Jesus is the creator of all things and the abundant life giver. Colossians 1:16, John 10:10
Death: Jesus said that no man would take His life for He gave it for us. John 10:11,15-18
Emancipation. Jesus sets us free from all things that hinder. John 8:36
Forgiveness. Because we confess & ask, He is faithful to forgive, cleanse, and forget. 1-John 1:9
Goodness. Jesus went about doing good to all. Acts 10:38
Healing. Jesus offers healing to all. Acts 10:38, Isaiah 53:5, I-Peter 2:24
Ideology. Jesus does everything well and with excellence. Mark 7:37
Joy. Jesus wants His fullness of joy in us. John 15:11
Knowledge. Jesus knows all things and brings knowledge to us by the Spirit. John 13:3, John 14:26
Love. Jesus shows His love for all in that He died for all of us. Romans 5:8
Manifestation. Jesus will reveal Himself to us so that no one is left out. John 14:18, John 14:21
Navigation. Jesus has prepared the way and is the only way to follow. John 14:6, Luke 9:23, Isa 45:2-3
Obligation. Jesus said He would never leave us or forsake us. Hebrew 13:5
Power. Jesus has unlimited power and gives power to the believer. Matthew 28:18, Luke 10:19.
Qualifications. God, the Father, and the Holy Spirit qualified who Jesus was & is. Matthew 3:13-17
Redemption. Jesus will redeem us by His blood from the curse placed on all. Galatians 3:13-14
Salvation. If we allow it, Jesus saves us from everything that’s against us. Rom 10:9-13, Heb 7:25, Ps 116:13
Tutelage. Jesus does not want us to live and walk in ignorance, but truth. John 8:31-36.
Uniqueness. Jesus was unique in that He came from heaven to die for the best & worst. Romans 5:6
Victory. Jesus seized victory over death, hell, the grave, and everything else, so we could have the victory. Hebrews 2:14-15, Revelation 1:17-18, Luke 24:1-8, 1-Corinthians 15:57, 2-Corinthians 2:14
Wealth. Jesus is wealthy enough to supply everyone’s needs. 2-Cor 8:9, Phil 4:19, 2-Pet 1:3
X-ray. Jesus sees and knows all so that nothing can be or will be hid. Mark 4:22, Matthew 7:21-23
Yearning. Jesus desires that no one dies without God. 2-Peter 3:9
Zip. Jesus hastens to perform His word and will make sure it comes to pass. Jeremiah 1:12, Mat 5:17-18
In this Easter season when we celebrate the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus, we must remember that He gave His extra-ordinary life in exchange for ours, so that, we might experience an extra-ordinary life through Him. Let us also remember that one day we will stand before Him and give an account of all that we have done in life, and then, it’s either heaven or hell. Let us therefore choose Him and His extra-ordinary life, so that we make heaven, miss hell, and fully enjoy life. Jesus did die, but HE IS ALIVE!
He is alive to save us. Romans 10:13
He is alive to supply us. Philippians 4:19
He is alive to satisfy us. Psalms 145:16
In closing, if one has not already done so, this is what needs to be done to receive this great life:
Admit. Admit that you are a sinner and want a change. Romans 3:23 For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.
Believe. Believe in your heart that you can be made right with God by what Jesus did for all. Romans 10:10 For with the heart man believes unto righteousness…
Confess. Confess with your mouth that Jesus is the Son of God and He died for your sins, and God raised Him from the dead so that you could be saved. Confess that you want Jesus in your life and ask Him to come in and live His life in you and to fill you with His Spirit. Romans 10:10..with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
Declare: Declare that you now belong to God, that Jesus’ blood has washed your sins away, and from now on you will live an extra-ordinary life for God through Jesus and the power of the Spirit. Romans 10:13 whosoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.
Eagerly Learn, Love, Live, Laugh, and Labor To Make God Look Good. Romans 12:11 whosoever believes on Him shall not be ashamed. To help fulfill this, get involved in a Bible believing, preaching, and teaching church and make yourself available to God and the church to live out this extra-ordinary life.
And this has been some of what Easter and the extra-ordinary life of Jesus is all about.

Amen. Thank you, Lord for all you have done.
I love this article!
I’m a believer and knowing that GOD gave his son so that my son and others may have eternal life. Knowing this gives me much comfort. Many people have ask how our family has continued on through this tramatic event that happened in 2008. It is through faith. The faith we have in our LORD and SAVIOR. If it were not for our faith I would be a puddle in a corner. It has nothing to do with our strength (I’m weak) but with the strength of our Heavenly Father we must go on. I know my son would want us to continue to live and “try” to live Christ like. We were so blessed to have had Dustin for the amount of time. Our son suffered but NOTHING like what our LORD and SAVIOR did for all sins except for the rejection of him. I was bound by chains of many things, anger, pain , and yes even doubt myself but when the blinders came off and I could focus really focus my outlook on life has change. Those chains are gone and I know one day I will see Dustin and my LORD and SAVIOR! When in doubt look up!
Larry Doggett is a multifaceted person and I am glad he is my friend. He is a spiritual mand and not a religious one. Religious men nailed Jesus to the cross
Thank-you Jesus!!!!!
