DTF Agents Make Felony Arrest for presciption narcotics
May 8th, 2008 by News ReleaseTask Force Agents made a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by Leigh Ashley Courson, age 26, of Monticello after a traffic violation. Officers obtained consent to search the vehicle driven by Courson and located a quantity of the Schedule II prescription drug Oxycontin in the vehicle. Digital Scales were also located in the vehicle.
After Courson was arrested, she was taken to the Drew County Detention Facility where marijuana was located in the floor of the holding area where Courson was being processed. Agents interviewed Courson and found she had in fact brought the marijuana into the jail after hiding it in her clothing.
Courson faces additional charges of Possession of marijuana and furnishing prohibited articles into a correctional facility.
Courson is currently on bond for delivery of methamphetamine charges and was on bond at the time of her arrest.
