DTF Agent Testifies, Plays Video of Vincent’s Interview
August 9th, 2018 by iPhoneAt 4:10, a drug task force agent took the stand next, and replied to questions about his experiences in the field.
The state played a recording made that night of Samuel Vincent, after the wrecks.
In that video, they discuss the camouflage bag, containing “around a 1/4 lb. of weed” that was thrown out of Vincent’s car.
The agent, based on the smell from a distance, told the attorney, “that’s a higher grade of marijuana than is usually on the street.” The state told the court that the drugs present weighed 169 grams. The agent then described that amount as, “more than a user would have.”
He then explained how a higher grade of weed sells on a smaller amount, for a higher amount, than most marijuana. He then explained the use of a digital scale, like the one found at the scene.
During the playing of the recording, the agent asked Vincent why he panicked and threw the camouflage bag of marijuana and cash out the window, before the wrecks occurred.
