Drugs Seized In Route to Monticello

September 25th, 2012 by

According to Sheriff Mark Gober, on the morning of Thursday, September 13th, at approximately 6:30 AM, members of the Drew County Sheriff’s Department stopped a vehicle on Highway 138 traveling west towards Monticello.

During a search of the passengers, deputies discovered approximately 6.9 grams of a white crystal-like substance believed to be methamphetamine also known as “Ice.”

Arrested at the scene was Glynn Vincent, age 51 of Drew County. Vincent was taken to the Drew County Detention Facility where he was charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver. This arrest was the result of an ongoing investigation. The following day, Vincent’s bond was set at $50,000. At the time of this release Vincent remains incarcerated.

According to research, on average, one gram of methamphetamine (“Ice”) yields 15-20 “hits” of the drug; therefore, this 6.9 grams of meth would have yielded 103-138 hits. Sheriff Mark Gober says that methamphetamine use has been more prominent in all areas of the population regardless of race and income.
