Drugs & Gun Lead To MPD Arrest
July 3rd, 2019 by iPhoneAccording to Monticello Police Chief Jason Akers a traffic stop by patrol officers for traffic violations resulted in the confiscation of methamphetamine and a firearm.
Joshua Hanke, age 34, was stopped for fictitious tags and defective equipment.
A search of the vehicle resulted in patrol locating a loaded .45 caliber handgun, a set of digital scales and a car dealer license plate that was determined to be stolen.
Hanke was charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of firearms by certain persons, simultaneously possessing drugs and a firearm and theft by receiving as well as related traffic violations.
Chief Akers commends the Officers for their work, and stated that the confiscation of drugs and a firearm is another example of the dangers our police officers face on a daily basis.
