Drowning Driver Escapes Rollover Wreck
April 9th, 2018 by iPhoneA westbound driver, near HWY 278 and Mill St., hit his brakes to avoid a vehicle that had stopped to turn. That is when his Dodge Dakota hydroplaned into the drainage creek by Jordan Park, trapping him inside.
A passing driver notified Monticello dispatch, to page out the fire and rescue team.
He was hanging upside down, struggling to unlock his seat belt, because of its position after the rollover. Eventually he was able to release himself and roll his window open, then escape.
MPD, DCSO, OEM and Rangel Wrecker responded.
