Drew County NAACP Baccalaureate Ceremony

NAACP local Branch #6042 hosted a Baccalaureate Ceremony on May 11th, 2019 to present its local scholarships. NAACP Drew County Branch, reported “It was our goal to provide a scholarship opportunity for 2019 Seniors who attend Drew Central and Monticello High Schools.
The purpose of the scholarship was to encourage student participation in a post-secondary program of study and to relieve a portion of the financial burden. We would also like to thank the NAACP members and community leaders for their generous donations towards this scholarship. The 2019 Baccalaureate Speaker was Dr. Felicia Brown who is a 1990 graduate of Monticello High School.
