Kerry Hartness of Monticello, president of Drew County Farm Bureau, took part in the delegate session of the 103rd American Farm Bureau Convention in Atlanta, Ga. Farmers and ranchers from all 50 states and Puerto Rico set the national organization’s policies at the Farm Bureau annual meet.
These policies — surfaced and debated from the grassroots level — guide national policy implementation efforts on a wide set of issues, ranging from international trade and livestock market transparency to urban agriculture and federal tax policies.
Arkansas Farm Bureau is a nonprofit, private farm and rural advocacy organization of roughly 190,000 families throughout the state working to improve farm and rural life.
