Drew County Extension Homemakers Clubs is pleased to continue its long tradition of supporting scholarship in our community by helping to fund the education of young achievers at the University of Arkansas at Monticello. Three students were selected to receive scholarships from EHC this year. They have been awarded the second half of their funding upon providing records of continued academic success to the local EHC office.

Braden Taylor, Bree-Anne Lanthrip, and Trenton Eubanks are ongoing proof that southeast Arkansas is nurturing potential in young adults that builds strong communities. All three of these Boll Weevils earned grades in the fall semester which awarded them recognition on the Dean’s List, and Taylor and Lanthrip anticipate graduation in May 2021. Taylor also recently claimed a prize for Best Overall Presentation from the 29^th Annual St Francis Writers’ Conference, and he was awarded an Arkansas Student Undergraduate Research Fellowship Grant to support his work on John Ruskin. He is currently president of the UAM Theatre Club as well as Sigma Tau Delta, the English Honor Society. He is also a member of Delta Zeta Epsilon, the Foreign Language Honor Society. Lanthrip is president of Phi Alpha Theta, the History Honor Society, and secretary of Pi Sigma Alpha, the Political Science Honor Society. Eubanks serves as an AmeriCorps volunteer in a 5^th grade class at Drew Central Middle School.
