Drew County Declared Disaster Area

When Gov. Asa Hutchinson declared 36 Arkansas counties as disaster areas, late last week , Drew County was included.
Around 4 AM, Sunday, April 30, a tornado struck the New Light area of Midway Rt., causing major damage to multiple homes and vehicles.
After the flooding that occurred across the state later during the week, where over 900,000 acres of crops were flooded, the disaster was declared, in all counties affected by the storm system.
The declaration should increase the chances of local storm victims receiving assistance, to help cover some of their losses.
