Drew County Burial Association Case Resolved
July 23rd, 2015 by Joe BurgessAccording to KATV’s “7 on Your Side”, it appears that members of the Drew County Burial Associaiton will be able to disolve their association, and receive checks for the value of their accounts.
In December the Drew County Burial Association tried to dissolve. Checks totaling over a million dollars were cut to about 250 members, but only 18 checks were cashed before the Arkansas Burial Association stepped in and froze the DCBA’s bank accounts and suspended its top officers.
Last week an Arkansas Attorney General’s opinion concluded that the board lacked the authority to take such drastic action.
In the end…the Arkansas Funeral Directors Board voted to reverse course and restore the member’s access to their money.
