Drew Central School Board Report
October 12th, 2012 by Caleb BurgerThe Drew Central School Board called to order their monthly meeting Oct. 9 to address this month’s topics.
Jason Cater received a seat on the board that replaced Miyoshi Smith through the voting process. It also became required that all board members must run due to redistricting, which took place during the last election.
The board members drew to see who would run over the next five years. Rene Knowles will run in five years from now, Mike Pennington in four, Laura Whitaker in three, Curley Jackson in two and Cater in one.
Also Kayla Middleton became the district’s director of coordinating school health due to the resignation of the previous director.
The board recognized that the district’s enrollment is up from around 937 students to 946 students.
Among other business in the meeting the flu shot update and the red brick building update received approval by the board along with the financial report for this month.
The next month’s Drew Central School Board meeting will take place on Nov. 8 at 7:00 p.m.
