Drew Central High School Band Announces First Ever Drum Major
June 15th, 2012 by Drew Central SchoolsDrew Central High School Band is proud to announce it’s first ever, Drum Major.
Senior, Sarah Porter has been chosen as Drum Major , Student Leader of the Drew Central High School’s Marching Band. To be selected for this honor, Sarah has meet the requirements of: A in Band, B average or higher in academic classes, must be dedicated to practice and have superior musical skills and marching ability, excellent vocal quailites, demonstrate leadership qualities as well as the ability to think on her feet, and have a good rapport with the other band members.
Sarah is a 7th year band student, playing the clarinet. Her other activtes at Drew Central are; Madrigals, Choir, Drama Club, First Mate, Science Club, PERT, Students Opposed to Drugs and Alcohol Club, and was chosen to serve a second year on the state’s Tobacco Control Youth Board.
