Drew Central Earns Removal From ADE Fiscal Distress Status
May 14th, 2013 by Joe BurgessDrew Central Superintendent Mike Johnston attended an Arkansas Dept. of Eduction meeting in Little Rock, Monday, where it was confirmed that the Drew Central school district had been removed from the “fiscal distress list”.
When a district works to prove their fiscal viability to ADE, the process usually takes two years. Drew Central is the only Arkansas district to accomplish this designation in one year, during this cycle.
The notification letter sent to the district br the ADE coordinator reads, “This letter is to certify that the Drew Central school district has completed all activities and strategies outlined in the districts fiscal distress improvement plan. The district has also complied with all department recommendations and requirement for removal from the physical distress. The district may now petition the State Board for removal from the physical distress status.”
