Drew Central 4th Grade Students Show Support For Hurricane Front Line Workers In New Orleans
September 3rd, 2021 by Drew Central SchoolsDrew Central Elementary fourth grade students showed their support for the front line workers in New Orleans. Students were learning about what it means to be a member of a community. The backbone of the discussions were centered around “How do we support each other in our town, in our state, in our country, and how do we support others globally?” After hearing about the devastation caused by hurricane Ida, the fourth graders asked their teachers if they could get involved. To show their support, they made cards which were delivered by fourth grade teacher, Katlin Hogue, to her sister, Riley Poor a paramedic on the front line. Riley Poor and Tannah Goss shared the cards with other ambulance teams as well.
