Where Do Local Mask Requirements Continue after State Mandates End?? Here’s The Answer

April 2nd, 2021 by

Mask

This week, Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson canceled the requirements for Arkansans to wear masks, to prevent potential spread of COVID-19.  Some larger cities and other entities announced that they will still require their residents and participants to wear facemasks.

Here’s where we stand, in Monticello.

Monticello Mayor Paige Chase said, “I won’t extend it (mask requirement) to Monticello.  I just hope that our citizens will care for others and be considerate of the health and well being of their family, friends, and others.”

Monticello School issued this statement, yesterday.7C2DB817-FD6B-438C-B052-FCB4A33C28E1

Drew Central Schools are on virtual learning, today. They will announce early next week their stance on masks for the remainder of the year.

UAM will require masks, as announced by the University of Arkansas system.0CC07439-44E8-45D0-8664-E2E518B27A6C

County Judge Robert Akin told MLive that the courthouse will not require masks, but strongly urges everyone to get your vaccination against the coronavirus.

Please remember that business owners have the right to request their customers wear a mask in their facilities, to protect other shoppers and employees. All government agencies encourage residents to cooperate with those requests.
