DNA Testimony – State Rests Murder Case
November 1st, 2018 by iPhoneNext to testify was another crime lab expert. His focus was on DNA recovery, records, and specifically separation of DNA samples from a single article of clothing, (Thompson’s jeans). He emphasized the recovery of a female DNA, Ms. Binns, from that item.
Other swabbed locations included the car’s trunk, the gun and the driveway.
The state rested at 10:10 am.
After the court denied the usual motions for directed verdict, the defense called their first witness, a toxicologist, at 10:40. He saw Lavar Thompson, after he was shot, by return fire, that morning.
